The Lincoln boys golf team continued its strong play, highlighted by its best performance of the season this week in central Oklahoma.
Lincoln went on a road trip to El Reno and won the Yukon Invitational, highlighted by an individual first place finish from junior Kael Wilkinson.
Lincoln shot 323 as a team to beat runner-up Frederick (332) and 3rd place Newcastle (335) at Crimson Creek Golf Course.
Wilkinson shot 76 to take him individual honors.
Senior Caleb Ellig shot 80 to finish 7th, while junior Nathan Shaughnessy was just behind in 9th with an 81.
Sophomore Brant Ritzhaupt and junior Gage Sowell each shot 86 to finish in the top 20.
Last week, Lincoln went to Oklahoma City to play a windy Lake Hefner Golf Course in the OCA Invitational.
The Bulldogs fared well there, also, taking 3rd place as a team.
Lincoln shot 314 as a team, finishing behind tournament host OCA (303) and Hobart (313).
Wilkinson was the top finisher for Lincoln, taking 4th after firing another 75.
Sowell was 18th after shooting 79, while Ritzhaupt and freshman Kade Wilson each shot 80 to finish in the top 20.
Ellig shot 88 to finish 44th for Lincoln.
Earlier last week, Lincoln finished 5th in the Pinnacle Conference Championship at Lafortune Park Golf Course.
The Bulldogs shot 311 as a team, finishing behind Cascia Hall, Rejoice Christian, Metro Christian and Holland Hall.
Wilkinson and Sowell each shot 75 again to finish in the top 10, while Ritzhaupt shot 78 to finish 21st.
Shaugnessy shot 83 and Ellig shot 84 to finish top 40 for Lincoln.
Earlier in April, Lincoln also played in the Choctaw Invitational at Choctaw Creek Golf Course.
The Bulldogs were runner-up to 6A champ Edmond North after shooting 311 again as a team.
Ritzhaupt and Shaunghnessy each finished in the top 10, while Sowell was 14th with a 79, Wilkinson was 22nd with an 81 and Ellig shot 87.
Lincoln will be headig west on Monday for regionals at Elk City Golf and Country Club.
