Record-Setting Season for Lincoln Wrestling Finishes Strong; Thrasher, Farris Take 3rd

The Lincoln wrestling program took another big step forward in 2024-25 and that was on full display at the state wrestling championships earlier this month in Oklahoma City.

The Bulldogs sent four wrestlers to the state meet, led by junior Ty Thrasher and junior Hudson Farris, who made school history.

The combo each placed 3rd at the state meet, marking the first time in Lincoln history. This coming shortly after both won their 100th match at the high school level in February.

"This group worked really hard over the past couple of years to put this program in an impressive position," said first year head coach AB Stokes. "They worked countless hours during and out of season. They have executed the hardships of starting a program and worked through many obstacles seamlessly."

"I'm very excited for what the future holds."

Senior Dawson Fullingim, out for his first year of high school wrestling, as well as junior Ethan Uyetake, also qualified for state this season.

Thrasher (157) won his quarterfinal matchup over Clint Ladon of Marlow in a 7-1 decision.

He fell to Gradt Mittasch of Pawnee in the semifinals in a tough 7-4 loss.

But Thrasher, who finished the season 45-7, battled back to beat Andrew Young of Blackwell in the consolation semis by fall before taking down Ladon in the 3rd place match, winning a major decision 15-5 for a medal.

Farris (132) beat Jace Lillie of OCS in the quarterfinals in a 7-2 decision before falling to Tommy Miller of Marlow, who was 38-0, in the semis.

Farris, who was 40-9 on the year, responded just like Thrasher, as the junior took down Luke Stinson of Lone Grove in a 10-3 decision in the consolation semis to make the 3rd place match.

There, he beat Peyton Head of Blackwell in a 4-2 decision to win a medal and get on the podium.

Fullingim won his opening match with a pin of Gavin Williams from Mangum.

The senior fell to Kruz Goff of Blackwell in the quarterfinals before bouncing back with a clutch 5-4 decision win over Logan Cook of Perry to stay alive.

Fullingim, who was 17-9 in his senior season after battling back from a knee injury, fell to Breck Alley of Newark in the consolation semis in a 9-5 decision.

Uyetake (165) beat Luke Tacker of Hobart in a 9-3 decision to make the quarterfinals.

The freshman, who was 32-19 in his first varsity season, would fall in his next two matches, losing to Brantz Bateman of Marlow in the quarterfinals and Carlos Martinez of Cashion in a 6-2 decision in the consolation bracket.

Lincoln was 8-13 on the year in dual matches, with 10 of the losses to schools 4A or above.

Thrasher won his 100th match at the Paul Post Invitational in Sallisaw, while Farris nabbed his 100th win at regionals.

Lincoln had its highest finish in school history at the East Regional, taking 7th as a team. The Bulldogs did the same a week later at state, taking 10th as a team, the best finish in program history.
