The Lincoln Christian wrestling program started the season off in two different states, but did so in impressive fashion, as the Bulldogs performed well with the team split into two events.
Some of high school competed at one of the top early season regional events in Kansas City — the KC Stampede.
Meanwhile, the junior high and the remainder of the high school group went west to Cleveland for the Joe Cole Tournament.
Both groups fared well and got off to a fast start in 2025-26, led by the junior high group, which took the team title in Cleveland.
"The junior high team had great success and brought home the second tournament victory in school history," said Lincoln head coach AB Stokes.
The junior high was led by individual champions Zach Madrid (98), Drayton Jones (101) and Colt Conroy (195).
Jones went 5-0 on the weekend, pinning two of his opponents and winning two more by major decision.
Conroy pinned all four of his opponents to finish a perfect 4-0, while Madrid was also 4-0 with two tech falls, a pin and a major decision win.
Briggs Mattson (92), Landon Andrews (112), Michael Maderazo (132) and Ryder Jones (195) each placed 3rd individually to help the Bulldogs to the team title.
Some other wrestlers had good showings in Cleveland, led by Hudson Shaw (285) who went 5-2 over the weekend.
Tucker Tatum (155) won three matches to help the Bulldogs, while Conner Oberste (112), Ethan Lopez (112), Kolden Pratt (119), Andrew Araskog (132), Corbin Anderson (140), Bryce Milligan (140), Josiah Faulkner (195), Easton Moore (195), Eric Moreno (285), Josh Foster (285) and Kellan McIntyre (285) each won two matches.

In Kansas City, the Bulldogs wrestled well, led by freshman Easton Smith and senior Ethan Uyetake.
Smith (126) won six times in his first high school tournament over the weekend to lead the Bulldogs.
Uyetake (190) won five times to start off his final season as a Bulldog wrestler on a great note.
Senior Hudson Farris (144) and freshman Arion Stokes (106) each won twice for Lincoln over the weekend.
Drake Sheffield (132), Gabe Huntsigner (157) and Jake Hornstein (150) each picked up a win for Lincoln in Kansas City.
Lincoln is currently ranked No. 7 in Class 3A by OWrestle.
Farris is ranked No. 2 at 138 and Uyetake is No. 3 at 190 to lead the Bulldogs.
Lincoln is back in action this weekend at the Glenpool Dual Tournament before taking part in the Pinnacle Conference event at Cascia Hall on Jan. 6.
