It was a perfect week for Lincoln wrestling, as the Bulldogs continue to build on the best season in program history and did so this week with two more dual wins.
No. 8 Lincoln (11-1) rolled over Bartlesville 53-27 on senior night on Tuesday and then followed that up with a 45-29 win at Bishop Kelley on Thursday.
"I'm thankful for another strong week of competition," said Lincoln Christian head coach AB Stokes. " We faced two well coached programs with a long tradition of developing outstanding wrestlers."
Lincoln dominated on Tuesday night, as nine Bulldog wrestlers won by pinning their opponent, getting out to an early lead and running away from the Bruins.
Freshman Arion Stokes (106), freshman Drake Sheffield (132), senior Hudson Farris (138), senior Gabe Huntsinger (144), sophomore Jake Hornstein (150), freshman Max Madrid (157), junior Mason Wren (165), senior Ethan Uyetake (175) and junior Lincoln Torres (285) all won by pin to help the Bulldogs to the win.
On Thursday at Bishop Kelley, the Bulldogs got big performances from several of the same individuals, as six wrestlers finished the week 2-0.
Stokes, Farris, Huntsinger, Madrid and Torres each pinned their opponent from the Comets to finish the week perfect, while Uyetake won in a decision to go 2-0 on the week.
Freshmen Easton Smith and Colt Conroy both pinned their opponents to help the Bulldogs to the victory.
The Bulldogs have a big week ahead, as Lincoln travels to No. 1 Blackwell for a dual on Tuesday, followed by district duals in Newkirk on Wednesday.
"With district duals coming up next week, this was an important step in our preparation," said Stokes. "We'll continue to look for ways to improve so we can be at our best when it matters most."
The Bulldogs don't stop there, either.
Lincoln will be at No. 4 Pawhuska for a dual on Thursday before heading to Sallisaw for one of the top tournaments annually — the Paul Post Invitational.
