Opening day of the 2023 baseball season is set for March 2nd with the district opener at Bristow. The Bulldogs will be a young team and will rely on the experience of the 4 returning upperclassmen to lead some talented freshmen and sophomores. After 3 consecutive State tournament appearances, including their 1st year in 4A, the Bullldogs look to start off with district wins against a talented Bristow team.
The Bulldogs will be led by seniors
Tyler Johnson,
Ashton Warehime, and
Cooper Jobe.
Dylan Baldridge will also play a heavy role at the plate and on the mound. All 4 of these players will pitch big innings throughout the year.
Dylan Baldridge will be a district starter that will carry a heavy load of the innings after a great finish last year. Baldridge,
Tyler Johnson, and
Cooper Jobe will also have to anchor the lineup and produce runs for a young lineup. They return with a lot of production last year and look to continue that again this year. After having a great year on the mound last year,
Ashton Warehime will be relied on to get a lot of innings as well.
The sophomore class will have many contributors in all facets of the game.
Mason Torres and
Kylan Schultheis will play a heavier role this year after getting some time defensively last year.
Luke Mccants,
Jack Milligan,
Ethan Adams, and
Ayden Wade will all step into various roles for the team as well. All of these guys will pitch at different points in the year will have to fill many of the innings lost to graduation. This is a dynamic group of players that can play many different positions and provide depth in the lineup.
The freshman class is a talented class with a lot of potential for different players to contribute.
Malakai Dillard and
Connor Rowlett will both hit at the top of the order and pitch big innings this year.
Javen Divine will handle the majority of the catching duties and
Carter Ricke will be a utility player that can do a little bit of everything. There will be several opportunities for some other freshmen to step into pitching roles as well throughout the year.
Lincoln opens March 2nd on the road at Bristow and returns home on March 3rd and 4th to play Rejoice and Morris respectively. The following week they will play Cushing on March 6th and 7th in district play and they will finish the week at Metro and Shiloh Christian before heading to Gulf Shores, AL for Spring Break.
