Host of Bulldogs Honored After State Semifinal Apperance, Best Season in Program History

Earlier this month, Lincoln Christian won the program's first ever state tournament game, capping off the best season in school history.

Lincoln (33-7) beat OCS 9-0 in the quarterfinals before falling 4-1 to eventual state-runner up Marlow in the Class 3A semifinals in mid May.

"It was a very special and historical season for our program," said Lincoln head coach Greg Harmon. "There was a ton of pride overall in the program and the way we played all year. I am so proud of our players effort and the job our coaching staff did throughout the year."

Lincoln won the 3A-6 district title, a regional championship and the area championship along the way to the program's 6th state tournament trip.

The Bulldogs rolled past OCS behind 12 strikeouts and a complete game shutout from Carter Hunter in the quarterfinals, as Lincoln played great small ball to score in all but one inning.

"Carter was great on the mound for us and we faced some strong pitching from OCS with a guy in the upper 80s," said Harmon. "We competed well at the plate and worked the bunt game and timely hitting game well. I was proud of our guys and it was a monumental win for our program."

The next day, Lincoln got behind Marlow early and was never able to overcome a strong outing from Outlaws pitcher Hudson Morgan, who struck out 14 Bulldog hitters.

"They are a traditional power and the guy they threw was great," said Harmon. "He threw 120 pitches and is heading to Oklahoma State in the fall. It was a disappointing loss but overall it was an exceptional season for us."

Recently, Lincoln handed out awards and earned district honors, as well.

Ricke started six games and appeared in 14, leading the team with a 6-0 record and a 1.92 ERA.

"He was our team leader and gave us a competitive edge all year long," said Harmon. "He is a multi-sport athlete that is heading to play college football and that success in football carried over to our program as well."

He also had a 1.07 WHIP and struck out 37 hitters in 32.2 innings pitched.

"He served as the glue that held our team together this year," said Harmon.

Ricke also had a .424 average at the plate with a .525 on-base percentage and a 1.055 OPS. He had a team-high 56 hits, along with nine doubles, one homer and 28 RBIs.

Sophomore Aiden Hendren, senior Chandler Cozbey and junior Carter Hunter were all three named Co-Pitcher of the Year by Harmon and his staff.

Cozbey was Pitcher of the Year in district, while Hendren and Hunter were each named to the first-team as a pitcher.

He also walked 28 times while striking out just 17.

Brooks was also named to the first-team as a designated hitter by the district.

Beaux Brumble was named the Most Improved Player by Harmon and his staff, as well as was named to the first-team as an infielder in district 3A-6.

"He made the biggest jump for us from the previous year," said Harmon. "He went from inconsistent playing time to winning the job outright as an every day starter. He was extremely solid for us both offensively and defensively."

Brumble hit .330 at the plate and had a .434 on-base percentage. He had five doubles and 25 RBIs, scoring 35 runs.

Cade Ryan was named to the second-team as a pitcher and senior Cole Dooley was also a second-teamer as an infielder.

Ryan started three games and made 13 appearances for Lincoln, totaling 27.2 innings. He had a 5-1 record and posted a 4.30 ERA but struck out 36 hitters.

Dooley started at third base for Lincoln most of the season and finished with a .364 average and .481 on-base percentage.

He had a .925 OPS and finished with five doubles, a triple and 32 RBIs.

Cade Poplin and Reid Eddings were both selected as honorable mention to the all-district team.

Poplin started four games for Lincoln on the mound and made 11 appearances, totaling 25 innings.

He had a 2.80 ERA and 1.48 WHIP, striking out 17 batters with a 2-1 record.

Eddings pitched 9.2 innings of relief for Lincoln, as he was 1-0 with 12 strikeouts. Eddings had three doubles, a triple and 10 RBIs in just 26 at bats for Lincoln as as hitter.

The Bulldogs bring back some key players for 2027 but lose six seniors, which will make for an important offseason for Harmon and his staff.

"We will have these guys take a break this summer and then get back in the weight room in August and look to prepare for another state tournament run in the spring," he said.

Lincoln's 33 wins in 2026 were the most in school history.
