Why do I coach? For me, the answer is simple, I coach for the kids:

• For all the kids that didn't know how to hold a racket last year and walked away with a medal at every tournament this year...
• For the kid that wasn't in the top 6 in April but didn't give up, then made it to STATE in May...
• For the kid who is new at school and completely finds their community through the team...

The number of kids and their stories are limitless, but they're all the same in that they are the reason that coaching is so gratifying. From the classroom to the tennis court my driving force is seeing kids accomplish things they didn't think were possible and the pride on their face when they realize their potential. Every day presents me with an opportunity to provide growth-filled experiences for the students I coach. Experiences that allow them to grow their leadership skills, discipline, work ethic, and Christ-likeness.
 
I coach because I've seen the results, students completely transforming themselves on and off the court, students achieving things they never thought were possible, and students setting aside personal desires to help out a teammate.
