The Lincoln girls tennis team has emerged victorious in the Miami Wardog Invitational, showcasing their skills and determination on the court. The tournament featured several high schools including Miami, Wagoner, Grove, Nowata, Pryor, Oolagah, and Bristow.
The Lincoln girls dominated the tournament with outstanding performances from each of their players. Layla Fears finished in first place at 1 Singles, winning all her matches against Grove, Pryor, and Wagoner with ease. She displayed impressive skills and technique, outclassing her opponents in every game.
Bella Rollandini also put up a stellar performance, finishing in first place at 2 Singles. She demonstrated exceptional control and precision, easily defeating her opponents from Wagoner, Pryor, and Grove.
Audrey Foster and Frannie Rollandini competed as 1 Doubles and despite finishing second, they put up a great show. The duo played fiercely against Miami, Pryor, and Grove, winning convincingly, but they fell short in a close match against Grove in a heartbreaking 3rd set tiebreaker.
Avarie Castagna and Nina Ross carried their momentum from the previous week to the tournament and finished in second place at 2 Doubles. They defeated Miami and Pryor with ease, but lost a close match against Wagoner in the championship.
Overall, the Lincoln girls team displayed remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, making their school and coach proud. They will now have a week to rest and prepare before heading to the Henryetta 4A tournament next week. The boy's date for the Wardog Invitational has been postponed until 4/27 due to the looming rain for the remainder of the week.
