Drew Lancaster made a 25 yard field goal as time expired to give the visiting Lincoln Christian Bulldogs a 31-29 non-district victory over the Jones Longhorns.
With the Bulldogs leading 28-21 late in the 4th quarter, the Longhorns drove deep into Bulldog territory. Jones quarterback Carson May found Emmtt Murphy in the endzone from 8 yards out with 42 seconds left in the contest to cut the Bulldog lead to 28-27. The Longhorns took the lead, 29-28, with a successful 2 point conversion pass from Cayden Karl to Murphy.
After a short kickoff, the Bulldogs got the ball at their own 43. Max Brown led the Bulldogs on a 5 play 49 yard drive. He completed 4 straight passes to Cam Dooley for 11 yards, Jimmy Martin for 15 yards, Logan Farris for 4 yards, Dylan Baldridge for 8 yards. Brown then ran one for 10 yards to set up Lancaster's game winner.
Max Brown had a huge night for Lincoln running and passing. He had 187 yards rushing on 18 carries with touchdown runs of 63 and 74 yards. He also completed 17 of 27 passes for 200 yards and touchdowns to Dylan Baldridge and Cam Dooley. Dooley finished the night with 5 catches for 59 yards and Baldridge ended with 4 catches for 59 yard to lead the Bulldog receivers.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Baldridge with 13 tackles and 2 passes defensed and Ty Johnson with 10 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.
Lincoln will host the Vian Wolverines this Friday at Dennis Byrd Stadium.
