The Lincoln softball team has picked up some big wins recently, as the Bulldogs continue to play solidly and improve as the calendar has turned to September.

Lincoln (7-8) won three of four games last week, as the Bulldogs took care of Commerce on Monday, beat Booker T Washington on Thursday and blew past NOAH on Friday.

"The girls are adapting well to the new culture of the program and to having me as head coach," said Lincoln head coach Greg Harmon. "Our core philosophy is that we have to respond to adversity like a competitor because things are going to happen. It's not if, but when, so we have to be ready to respond and I think they have done a great job of that thus far."

Lincoln shutout Commerce last Monday, winning 7-0, before falling to Claremore Sequoyah 8-6 on Tuesday.

But the Bulldogs responded with a big 5-2 win over Booker T Washington on Thursday and another shutout of NOAH in a 15-0 win on Friday.

"The girls are having to play multiple positions and are being put in different roles than they have played before," said Harmon. "I am proud of how they are handling moving around. They have great attitudes with grace and humility."

The Bulldogs are 3-6 in district play, but have continued to played better as of late and Harmon likes where his team is headed as October and the postseason nears.

"Winning three games last week is encouraging," said Harmon. "When we get all three phases playing together consistently, I think we can be a dangerous team in October."

The Bulldogs fell to Kansas 7-3 at home on Tuesday. Lincoln will face Catoosa and Kansas again later this week before another matchup with Commerce next week.

LINCOLN 7, COMMERCE 0

Lincoln senior Haylee Delozier had a career performance last week in the win over Commerce, as the hurler was dominant from start to finish in all phases.

Delozier pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits, walking none and striking out nine batters.

She was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a 2-run homer.

"It was a dominant all-around victory," said Harmon."Haylee was tremendous, but our pitching, hitting and defense all clicked."

The Bulldogs rebounded from a tough 2025 vs. Commerce to pick up a big win behind 10 team hits.

"They beat us twice last year with the same pitcher we saw last week," said Harmon. "She is a lefty with above-average stuff and we did a great job at the plate."

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead and that was all they needed, although Lincoln added another run midway through the game before piling on four runs late.

"Our offense was great," said Harmon. "We were hitting the ball well, bunting, executing our small ball game - we did it all. And we played great defensively, committing no errors."

Samatha Loftstrom was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Ivey Wheeler also had two hits and an RBI.

Breylin Wichman was also 2-for-3 with an RBI double.

Braxli Brown and Elizabeth Eddings also drove in a run for Lincoln, as seven of the nine batters had a base hit in the win.

LINCOLN 5, BOOKER T WASHINGTON 2

The Bulldogs picked up another big win last Thursday against Booker T, as Lincoln leaned on Delozier once again and came up with some timely hitting.

After falling down 1-0 early, Lincoln responded with two runs in the 2nd to take the lead and two more in the 3rd to go up 4-1.

Lincoln led 5-1 after four innings.

"Our girls didn't panic after we got down early and I was proud of them," said Harmon. "We really showed grit and ability to battle under some pressure."

Delozier scattered four hits and two earned runs across five innings of work. She walked just two and struck out four.

"She pitched well again," said Harmon. "She let our defense make routine plays behind her and we didn't have any errors again."

Harmon praised his freshman for their big play, including Lofstrom, who had two hits and an RBI, including at triple.

"She delivered for us in a big spot," Harmon said.

Eddings had two RBIs in the win, while Wichman drove in the other run for Lincoln.

"She had some really timely hits for us and has been a consistent contributor for us all fall," said Harmon.

Sophie Ellis was 2-for-3 in the win for Lincoln.

"Booker T is a scrappy team with a solid pitcher," said Harmon. "This was a great win that the girls earned."

LINCOLN 15, NOAH 0

The Bulldogs made quick work of NOAH last Friday, as Lincoln needed to bat just twice in a short win.

Lincoln scored five runs in the first and 10 more in the second, as the Bulldogs had 11 hits and took advantage of four Jaguars' errors.

Delozier didn't allow a hit in three innings of work, walking just one and striking out four.

Errington Koehn, Lofstrom and Sally Pritchard all doubled for Lincoln in the win.

Lofstrom had a team-high three RBIs, while Pritchard, Koehn and Delozier each drove in two runs.

Ellis was 2-for-3 with two runs, while Wichman also had an RBI in the victory. Aspen Beers was also 2-for-3 for Lincoln with three runs scored.
