No. 1 Lincoln Back in 4A Title Game After Dominant Win vs. McLoud

With a trip to the state tournament on the line for the 4th straight season, No. 1 Lincoln showed why it's been the top team all year long.

The Bulldogs (28-2) dominated from the opening tip until the closing seconds, as Lincoln punched its ticket to the finals in a 68-26 win over McLoud on Thursday night in Yukon.

Just like they did last year in March and in Tuesday's opening round win vs. Kingfisher, Lincoln suffocated McLoud, holding the Redskins to just eight points after halftime.

"This time of year its about toughness and defense," said Lincoln Christian head coach Melody Stewart. "I was really proud of how our team competed on that end of the floor last night."

Lincoln led 38-18 at the break and extended the lead out to 51-22 through three quarters.

Senior Maddi Stewart led the way for Lincoln with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, while sophomores Niya Willoby and Azariah Woodruff each had 10 for the Bulldogs.

Lincoln has now won 13 straight playoff games dating back to last February and will face No. 5 Douglass in the finals - a rematch from last March's 4A title game.

The Bulldogs led 18-10 after the first quarter, but opened the 2nd on a 13-0 run.

Senior Alexis Leyva capped off the run with a mid-range jumper from the free throw line to put Lincoln up 31-10 with just over two minutes to go in the first half.

Stewart went coast-to-coast to put Lincoln up 32 with 6:23 to go in the 4th, as the senior converted a three-point play after a tough foul and finish to make it 54-22.

Last March, Lincoln outlasted Douglass 39-36 for the program's first state title and will look to do the same on Friday night at 7:45 p.m. at the new OG&E Coliseum in Oklahoma City.

The two teams will face off for the second year in a row after Douglass (19-8) got past Locust Grove 53-47 in the late game on Thursday evening.

Lincoln has won 20 straight games after losing back-to-back games in December to Union (6A) and Bixby (6A).

Stewart spoke about how that reset her team and developed a new mantra that has carried the Bulldogs to just one win away from back-to-back state titles.

"This team has great senior leadership," said Stewart. "After the TOC in December, when we had couple of tough losses, they grabbed onto a phrase from Audi Crooks called 'Monsters in March' and you are seeing that right now."

Lincoln is 25-2 in the playoffs across the last four years, 30-3 during the last five seasons and 34-4 in the playoffs throughout the last six years.

The Bulldogs have held all six playoff opponents in 2026 to 34 points or less.

Meanwhile, Lincoln is averaging 76 points per game and has an average margin of victory of 47 points during the six games.
