Lincoln continued to impress on the track and in the field, as last week both teams showed out at the Owasso Invitational.
The boys team took 3rd, while the girls placed 7th in a meet filled with mostly 6A teams.
The Bulldogs continued their trend of setting and re-setting school records and posting personal bests, led by several familiar names.
Sophomore distance runners Sammy Farris and Ty Brooks both were in peak form, as the two both set new PRs and are now No. 1 and 2 runners in the state in the 800.
Brooks took 1st with a time of 1:54 and Farris was 2nd, just behind at 1:56.
"The wind came rolling across the Oklahoma plains and it turned into a chilly evening," said Lincoln head coach Stephen Lewelling. "That didn't stop Ty and Sammy from setting new PRs and becoming the top two runners in the state. With Ty's run, he is now the school record holder in the event and Sammy becomes the third fastest we've ever had."
Senior Ally Huxtable continued her historic career, as the most decorated athlete in track program history broke her own school record with a time of 56.6 in the 400, which was good for 1st.
"Ally had no problem with the breeze as she broke her own school record by half a second," Lewelling said. "Her time of 56.6 is more than a second ahead of Addison Brooks who was the previous record holder."
Senior Ellie Stine continued her strong start to her senior season, as she took 1st in the discus with a throw of 141.
Meanwhile, fellow standout field athlete Elliot George kept his foot on the gas, as the senior tied his school record from a week ago in the high jump, taking 1st at 6-4.
The relay teams were strong again for Lincoln, led by the girls 4x800 relay team, which took 2nd at 9:42.
"Our girls 4x800 had one of the most complete performances of the evening, knocking off eight seconds from their time last week and matching our best time from last year's state meet performance," Lewelling said.
The girls 4x400 relay team was 4th with a time of 4:15. The girls 4x100 relay team was 8th, but ran the 3rd fastest time in school history at 51.64.
The boys 4x400 relay team took 3rd, running 3:35, while the 4x200 relay team was 5th at 1:32 and had the 6th fastest time in program history.
Senior Baylee Woodrich was 3rd in the 1600, as she is poised for another run at a state title. She ran 5:29.
Bentley Stewart had an incredible performance, taking 5th in the 3200 at 11:41. It was a 19-second personal-best and is the No. 2 time in school history.
Freshman sprinters Caleb Peterson and CJ Wright were neck and neck in the 200, as Peterson ran 23.19 to take 5th and Wright clocked at 23.20 to finish 6th.
Garner McAfee continue to impress, as he 5th in the 400 with a time of 51.36. It was good for the 7th best time in school history.Â
Braxton Ferguson was 5th for Lincoln in the 800, running 2:03, while Colin Pogue was 9th at 2:06.
Pogue was also 6th in the 1600, finishing with a time of 4:54.
Trevor Hacker was 4th in the 3200, running 10:20.
Drue Froelich ran 13:26 in the 100, which was the 6th best time in program history.Â
Abby Fullingim ran well in the 200, taking 7th with a time of 27.7.
