In the District 3A-3 opener, the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs delivered a commanding performance, emerging victorious against the visiting Berryhill Chiefs. The Bulldogs demonstrated their dominance on both sides of the ball, outgaining the Chiefs with an impressive total of 583 yards of offense to Berryhill's 306 yards of offense. The game was highlighted by standout individual performances and an efficient offensive display by the Bulldogs.
Quarterback Luke Milligan led the charge for the Bulldogs, showcasing his exceptional passing skills. He completed 23 of 31 attempts for a remarkable 320 yards, with four touchdowns. Milligan's precision and decision-making on the field were key factors in Lincoln's triumph.
The Bulldogs' ground game was equally impressive, with running backs Sawyer Brooks and Moses Fullingim making significant contributions. Sawyer Brooks carried the ball eight times, accumulating an impressive 129 yards and scoring two touchdowns while Moses Fullingim carried the ball five times for 57 yards and added one touchdown.
The receiving corps of the Bulldogs shone brightly in this matchup. Malakai Dillard was a standout player, catching nine passes for 116 yards and contributing two touchdowns. Jack Milligan also had a strong performance, with three receptions for 72 yards and one touchdown. Kylan Schultheis added to the receiving yards with three catches for 60 yards.
Luke McCants also got on the scoreboard for the Bulldogs with his 2 yard touchdown reception in the 2nd quarter.
Defensively for the Bulldogs, Rain Ragland had 8 total tackles with 3 of those going for a loss. Micah Kruse and Connor Rowlett had 7 tackles each, Caden Barton chipped in with 6 tackles, and Carter Ricke had 5 tackles and a big interception at the end of the first half.
Lincoln will continue district play in 2 weeks as they go on the road to play the Checotah Wildcats.
