Senior Night Success for Volleyball Over Coweta Tigers

Lincoln Christian dominates on senior night, moving past multiple lineup changes to sweep the Coweta Tigers 3-0.

The Bulldogs started the first set strong, jumping out to a quick 6-2 lead over the Tigers. Although the Tigers brought the game back within two points, Lincoln jumped back out to a 11-5 lead. After Lincoln extended their lead up to 20-12, the Tigers tried to make a comeback attempt but just couldn't get there, giving the Bulldogs the first set 25-19. Micalah Reed led the set in kills with 6.0, while Jessica Kaste led in digs with 6.0 and Bailee Gillion led in aces with 2.0.

Lincoln then completely dominated in the second set, doing almost whatever they wanted when they wanted. Ultimately, the Bulldogs won the set 25-13, giving themselves momentum and a firm 2-0 lead with the chance to sweep heading into the third set. Micalah Reed once again led the set in kills with 2.0, while Jessica Kaste notched 7.0 digs and Bailee Gillion smoked 2.0 aces.

The Tigers kept it close with the Bulldogs to begin the third set, as Lincoln held a slim 9-7 lead over the visiting team. The Bulldogs then turned on the jets, storming out to an insurmountable 20-11 lead that eventually led to a 25-17 win in favor of the home team. Jaden Katsis spiked 4.0 kills in the set, Bella Rollandini led in digs with 7.0 and Lauren Treadway led in aces with 3.0.

The Bulldogs persevered through injuries and other factors that switched up the lineup to beat Coweta in straight sets. This isn't the first time that Lincoln has had to change their lineup due to players being out, as being able to persevere is starting to become a defining trait for this team. Micalah Reed led the game in kills with 10.0, Jessia Kaste led in digs with 15.0, Bailee Gillion led aces with 4.0 and Mia Tucker, Olivia Tucker, Audrey Foster and Micalah Reed all led in game in blocks with 1.0. Lincoln will play their last home game of the regular season on Thursday, where they will take on the Oklahoma Christian Saints. The Saints and Bulldogs should be highly competitive game, as they are currently both tied for 4th in the current OSSAA volleyball rankings. Congratulations to seniors Isabella Rollandini, Audrey Foster, Jessica Kaste, Bailee Gillion, Mia Tucker and Brooke Flanary on a great LCS volleyball career!
