Lincoln Christian dominates on the road, beating the Class 2A Vian Wolverines, 42-0.
The Bulldogs defense wasted no time starting the game, with Cam Dooley picking off Diego Ramos to set up the LIncoln offense with 9:13 left in the first quarter. Junior Moses Fullinghim then ran in a short touchdown run, putting the Dogs on the board 7-0 with 8:32 in the first. Fullinghim wasn't done however, as he would run in another touchdown for Lincoln to end the quarter 14-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Lincoln's defense was phenomenal throughout the game, shutting out the Wolverines while forcing two interceptions. The Bulldog defensive line was on full display to start the second quarter, as they were able to get into the backfield on fourth down and stop Vian in their own territory. The Bulldogs then easily capitalized, with quarterback Luke Milligan finding a wide open Jimmy Martin to put Lincoln up 21-0 with 4:46 left in the quarter. The Bulldog offense could not be denied to end the half, with Milligan throwing his second touchdown pass of the day to Dylan Baldridge on a redzone out route to send Lincoln into halftime at a 28-0 lead.
Lincoln Christian's offense did not slow down in the third quarter, with senior John Washington walking in a short 5-yard rushing touchdown to put the Bulldogs up 35-0. Luke Milligan would then find Dylan Baldridge once again for the quarterback's third touchdown of the day, giving Lincoln a comfortable 42-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs defense was unbelievable for the night, holding Vian to 0 points and only 86 passing yards through four quarters. Seniors Ty Johnson, Nate Ross, Jake Kratzer and Zane Thrasher (among others) kept constant pressure on the Wolverine backfield, while Griffin Dyer, Preston Whitmarsh, Seth Kruise, and Cam Dooley (among others) denied the Vian passing attack. A Jimmy Martin interception ended the game the same way it started, with defensive excellence.
The Bulldog offense did whatever they wanted against the Wolverines, using both a strong passing and running game to beat the home team. John Washington (10 car, 96 yards, 1 TD) and Moses Fullinghim (4 att, 12 yards, 2 TD) led the dominant rushing attack, while Luke Milligan (16-20, 285 yards. 3 TD), Dylan Baldridge (4 rec, 72 yards, 2 TD) and Washington (2 rec, 86 yards) led the unstoppable passing attack. With this win, Lincoln Christian will improve to 3-0 and travel to Arkansas next week where they will take on the 5A powerhouse Shiloh Christian Saints.
