Lincoln Christian obliterates Checotah, shutting out the Wildcats while scoring 9 touchdowns on their way to a 63-0 blowout.
The Bulldogs defense wasted no time setting the tone, getting a sack and a Tyler Johnson interception to set the offense up at the Checotah 11 yard line. The Lincoln offense moved fast, with John Washington running in a 1-yard touchdown to put the Bulldogs up 7-0. After multiple 3-and-outs by both teams, John Washington ran in his second touchdown of the day, putting Lincoln up 14-0 with 4:35 left in the first quarter.
The defense continued their dominance, as Tyler Johnson successfully read the quarterback and picked up his 2nd interception of the night to set up the Bulldogs at the Checotah 10-yard line. Luke Milligan immediately found Jimmy Martin in the end zone to put Lincoln up 21-0 with 4:05 left in the first quarter. After another forced 3-and-out by the Bulldog defense, Luke Milligan located Seth Kruse for a 10 yard touchdown pass to put Lincoln up 28-0. The Bulldogs special teams got in on the fun, as a bobbled kick by the Wildcats led to a Lincoln fumble recovery in the red zone. Luke Milligan then lobbed his 3rd passing touchdown of the day to Seth Kruse, ending a high-tempo 1st quarter 35-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Lincoln started the second quarter how they ended the first one, with Luke Milligan throwing his 4th touchdown to Dylan Baldridge to put the Bulldogs ahead 42-0 with 11:08 left in the quarter. After another Wildcat 3-and-out, Luke Milligan hit John Washington for a 45 yard touchdown to take a 49-0 lead over the Wildcats. Another stop from the Bulldog defense led to Moses Fullinghim running in a red zone touchdown to give Lincoln a whopping 56-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Bulldogs defense continued to dominate, with Joey Martin recovering a fumble in the end zone to give Lincoln a touchdown and a 63-0 lead over the Wildcats. The Bulldogs then gave the 2nd and 3rd stringers some varsity time, which officially ended the game at 63-0 in favor of the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs. The game stats were impressive for the Bulldogs, as Luke Milligan went 17-23 with 298 passing yards and 5 touchdowns. John Washington had 58 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 70 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. Seth Kruse had 99 receiving yards with 2 receiving touchdowns as well. Tyler Johnson also grabbed 2 interceptions on defense. The defensive line was amazing, only allowing 53 rushing yards while the team as a whole forced 5 turnovers. After this win, the Bulldogs will improve to 6-1 and will take on Seminole at home next Thursday.
