Lincoln Christian annihilates the Muldrow Bulldogs 49-7 on the road, successfully clinching the 3A-3 district championship.
Lincoln's offense made their strategy known on the first drive of the game, slowing their usually fast tempo by going on a long 10-play drive that ended with John Washington running in a 1-yard touchdown. Muldrow started fast however, taking the ensuing kickoff 93-yards to tie the game at 7-7. The next offensive drive for the away team was riddled with penalties, leading to an early quarter punt. Lincoln's defense then flexed its muscles, allowing 1 yard and forcing a Muldrow three-and-out. Lincoln then turned to a ground and pound approach on offense, running the offense through running back John Washington by giving him the ball 6 out of the 7 plays during the drive. This strategy worked well, ending with Washington running in his second touchdown to give the road team a 14-7 lead.
The Lincoln defense continued to dominate, holding the Muldrow offense to -6 yards while forcing another three-and-out. The offensive side of the ball then capitalized on the defensive success, as Luke Milligan found Dylan Baldridge for an 11 yard touchdown connection to put Lincoln up 21-7. The defense continued to be a force to be reckoned with, holding Muldrow to their 3rd three-and-out of the game. Lincoln then ran the ball at will, rotating carries between John Washington and Moses Fullingim, which eventually led to John Washington's third touchdown of the game to extend the lead to 28-7. After Muldrow's 4th three-and-out of the day, Luke Milligan located Seth Kruse for a 20 yard touchdown, giving the road team a commanding 35-7 lead heading into halftime.
The Lincoln defense continued to own Muldrow in the second half, as safety Seth Kruse grabbed a pick-six on the second play of the quarter to give Lincoln an outstanding 42-7 lead. The Lincoln defense then allowed 1 yard on the following Muldrow drive, completely shutting down the home team. Luke Milligan then threw a 46 yard bomb touchdown to Cam Dooley, as the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs earned the district championship.
Lincoln's defense was absolutely dominant against the Muldrow Bulldogs, only allowing 56 total rushing yards while holding them to 11 yards of passing offense. On the offensive side of the ball, John Washington had an amazing game, rushing for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns (18 carries) while also grabbing 103 yards receiving on 7 receptions. Lincoln had 512 total offensive yards, partially attributed to Luke Milligan's 264 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. After this absolutely dominant performance, Lincoln has clinched home field advantage for potentially their first two playoff games and will look to finish district play undefeated against the Locust Grove Pirates.
