Lincoln Defeats Stigler 49-0

Bulldogs Get Homecoming Win

Lincoln Christian dominates the formerly 6-1 Stigler Panthers, forcing five turnovers to take a commanding 49-0 win.

The Bulldogs offense started the game with an effective passing attack, completing four passes in a row that included Luke Milligan throwing his first touchdown to Seth Kruse to give Lincoln a 7-0 lead. Before the Stigler offense could even get the ball, Moses Fullingim forced a fumble on the kickoff, which was recovered by Kolten Katsis to give the red hot Lincoln offense the ball in scoring position. The Bulldogs continued their dominant passing attack, as Luke Milligan found John Washington for a 19-yard touchdown to give Lincoln a quick 14-0 lead with 9:07 in the first quarter. The Lincoln defense then got their turn to shine, as Tyler Johnson forced a fumble that was recovered by Nate Ross inside the 20-yard line. The Bulldogs then got the run game going, as John Washington ran in a 3-yard touchdown to put the scoreboard at 21-0.

The Lincoln defense continued to dominate, as Mason Torres and Zane Thrasher forced another Panthers fumble, which was recovered by Seth Kruse to give the Bulldog offense favorable field position once again. Luke Milligan then threw his third touchdown of the game, as Cam Dooley caught his first touchdown since injury to give Lincoln a 28-0 lead. The Panthers offensive struggles continued to haunt them, as a mishandled snap led to a fumble recovery by Tyler Johnson to give the Bulldogs the ball inside the 10-yard line. Milligan then threw his fourth touchdown of the game, lasering Jimmy Martin in the end zone to put Lincoln ahead of Stigler 35-0. The Lincoln defense continued to lock down the Stigler Panthers, forcing a punt to end the hectic first quarter at 35-0 in favor of the home team.

John Washington then quickly scored his third touchdown against the Panthers, running a 14-yard touchdown to go up 42-0. After some back-and-forth drives between both teams, the game went into halftime with the Bulldogs up six touchdowns. The Panthers offense started the second half like they played in the first, as Zane Thrasher forced another Stigler fumble that was recovered by Charlie George to set the Bulldog offense up for success once again. Lincoln's offense ran the ball once again, as John Washington ran his fourth touchdown of the day to give the Bulldogs a 49-0 win over the Panthers.

The Bulldogs dominated a highly-anticipated district opponent in the Stigler Panthers, forcing five turnovers while scoring seven touchdowns. John Washington was unbelievable for the home team, rushing for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns while accumulating 37 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. Luke Milligan threw the ball well, going 13-22 with 176 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Seth Kruse led the charge receiving, catching 3 passes for 45 yards and 1 touchdown.
