Summer Pride
In the summer of 2002, the first Summer Pride program was implemented at Lincoln Christian School. The program was created to train and develop well rounded athletes. The program was first introduced to the Varsity Football Team running throughout the summer mornings for a few hours each day. The goal was to teach mental and physical toughness to the Bulldogs. It was such a success that other LCS sports team were added to the popular endurance program. The Girls’ sports teams were added in the summer of 2008 and now ALL TEAMS at LCS participate. As time passed, the Junior High and Elementary Bulldogs were added. Summer Pride now averages over 300 athletes every summer.
Lincoln Coaches from ALL sports have bought in to the importance of the program and are 100% committed. The parents and athletes know what to expect and are more than eager to meet the physical demands that each day brings. Athletes work out 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. Exercises are a combination of running, jumping, pushing, pulling, and a huge focus on the weight room. Lincoln is blessed with two magnificent weight rooms for both men and women. Our facilities include: turf field, grass fields, stadium, hills, and gyms which are used to reach all facets of daily workout.
Summer Pride focuses on the One Team mentality which is one of our core values. Coaches believe in sharing athletes, support of all teams, and team above self. When athletes complete Summer Pride they are building a culture of resiliency, toughness, grit, perseverance, and commitment. We truly believe our Summer Pride program sets us apart and has led our teams to many State Championships.
